Andreas Zuber and Luis Razia, after not having driven this Friday morning during the GP2 Series free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps, will undoubtedly have to be chomping at the bit all weekend. The cars from their team (PartyPokerRacing.com Team Coloni, formerly Fisichella Motor Sport International) were seized by lawyers acting on behalf of Andy Soucek, current championship leader Formula 2.
The team, which ran its single-seaters under the name Scuderia Coloni for the first time in Valencia, saw lawyers and police arrive this Friday morning. Having not found a solution to resolve the problem, the team had to skip qualifying for the Belgian GP2 Series event.
Andy Soucek is demanding reimbursement for a payment he made to FMSI last year, according to Autosport. The Spaniard was ousted from the team before the first race of the 2008 season, despite the payment of an initial sum, according to the driver. Pending settlement of the dispute, the Scuderia Coloni single-seaters remain immobilized, with Luis Razia and Andreas Zuber unable to participate in qualifying for the Spa-Francorchamps races.
