Grosjean, F1 after GP2

Nelson Piquet, since the start of the season, has not been calm at Renault. With much less sensational times than his world champion teammate, the Brazilian failed to reverse the trend after an already disappointing first season. Therefore, an exit of the driver before the end of the season would seem logical, in order to prepare for 2010. But Nelsinho's contract being so difficult to break that the Brazilian seems to have to keep his seat for 2009. However, Romain Grosjean, third Renault driver and current leader of the GP2 Series championship, says he is ready to take over. “ I discovered all this nonsense after Silverstone, declares the Franco-Swiss in a sports daily. I don't know more but I am an RDD driver (Renault Driver Developpement) so if I am asked, I can be in a F1 tomorrow. »

Despite everything, Romain Grosjean has a short program. Even if the prospect of racing in Formula 1, for a driver, is extraordinary, letting slip a title that holds his arms open to him in GP2 would be a shame. This series running exclusively in Europe until the end of the summer, the native of Geneva will be available for the F1 Grands Prix on the other side of the world (Singapore, Japan, Brazil, Abu Dhabi). But, above all, Grosjean confirms that the GP2 title is indeed his priority. “ I dream of going to F1 but, for now, I want to complete this GP2 championship. »
