Hubert winner of the Sprint Race in Monaco

From its fourth meeting in Formula 2, Anthoine Hubert (Arden) entered the winners category! The Frenchman won the Sprint Race held in the streets of Monaco on Saturday May 25 late in the afternoon. The outgoing GP3 Series champion had obtained pole position thanks to the reverse grid and the penalty from Luca Ghiotto (UNI-Virtuosi) the day before.

Starting from first place, the native of Lyon kept the advantage throughout the entire 30 laps. He thus kept a cool head during the two Safety Car interventions to clear the cars of Tatiana Calderon (Arden), Luca Ghiotto and Mahaveer Raghunathan (MP Motorsport).

Then, he had to contain the desires of the Swiss Louis Delétraz (Carlin). The latter came dangerously close to the leader's rear wing a few laps from the goal. No overtaking was attempted, but the tension and the small gap made the final moments of the test stressful for the Habs. A final offensive from Louis Delétraz in the finishing straight even narrowly failed to succeed!

The third step of the podium is taken by Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi). Dorian Boccolacci (Campos) runs a clean race to bring back the points for fifth position. The leader in the general classification Nicholas latifi (In) finished 10th, ahead Mick Schumacher (Prema). Giuliano Alesi (Trident) retired after being pushed twice by Sean Gelael (Prema).
