IMS GP – Qualy: O’Ward on pole, Grosjean 3rd

For six thousandths, Pato O' Ward took the 3rd pole of his season.

At the end of the Fast12, the native of Monterrey dominated Will Power, five times pole-sitter on the road to Indianapolis, by just two hundredths of a second. Romain Grosjean (Dale Coyne Grosjean).

With this result, the Frenchman confirmed that he feels comfortable on a circuit where he obtained his first pole in the series last May, before getting on his first podium (2nd).

Romain actually believed he could still be the fastest in Indianapolis, but made a mistake: a little mistake.”

The Genevan will start alongside the surprising Christian Lundgaard, who amazed the paddock for his first in IndyCar.

With the No. 45 of RLL Racing in his hands, the ART GP driver in FIA F2 has already done much better than freelancing.

Triple winner of the Indy GP, simon pagenaud finished in last place in Fast12. His compatriot, Sébastien Bourdais (AJ Foyt) will start from 14th position.

Scott Dixon is the big loser of the session. Spinning during his last attempt in Q1, the Kiwi had his best lap revoked for causing a yellow flag which hampered a competitor.

Finally penultimate in his qualifying group, he will start from 26th place, while his teammate and championship leader, Alex Palou, will start 6th.

The grid will start on Saturday at 18:30 p.m.
