The 106th edition of the Indianapolis 500 began Tuesday May 17 with two free practice sessions. Classified in the second half of the table, the two French people involved Romain Grosjean (Andretti) and simon pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing) however draw positive lessons from this day.

For the winner of the 2019 edition, it was “a very satisfying day. We found a lot of good things about the car. The car is comfortable on long stints, which allowed us to see the good performance of the tires. I am very happy. His compatriot had to get back into the swing of things in unsuitable conditions. Indeed, gusts of wind destabilized the behavior of the Dallas by Romain Grosjean, who is making his debut on the Indiana oval.

“It was very hot but windy, so it wasn’t easy, did he declare. I felt that as the day went on we adapted the car to my preferences, and I also improved on my side. It was a satisfactory resumption of contact. I'm looking forward to going further tomorrow (Wednesday). »

A four-hour test session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18 from 18 p.m. mainland France time.
