IndyCar – Enerson to debut at Mid-Ohio

R.C Enerson will compete in his first race in IndyCar this weekend in Mid-Ohio. The 2014 USF2000 champion, who has since competed in Indy Lights with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, completed a day of testing on the circuit near Lexington this week. Dale Coyne Racing has confirmed its commitment to the #19 alongside Conor Daly.

“I’m excited to join Dale Coyne Racing this weekend, comments the rookie. I didn't think I would be able to get a wheel in 2016 and compete in an IndyCar race before attempting a full program next year. It’s fantastic to be able to gain experience now. »

“Plus, Mid-Ohio is probably the best track to take my first steps because it’s one of my favorites, adds the 19-year-old Floridian. I have always done well there and I even won there last year. It’s even more motivating. »

R.C Enerson indeed took victory at Mid-Ohio in both USF2000 and Indy Lights.

“I don't know what it is about Mid-Ohio, but this track suits my driving style very well., recognizes the American. I'm always at the front every time I ride here. This is a fun track because it is hilly and has long turns. »

“I’m looking forward to competing against some of the drivers I grew up following. I was only three years old when I went to see the Indianapolis 500 for the first time. It's impressive to see pilots like Helio (Castroneves) and Tony Kanaan who have been there for so long. It’s a real step”, concludes R.C Enerson.
