IndyCar – Montoya and Power put on the show

The Team Penske drivers didn't wait to start the show. Juan-Pablo Montoya and Will Power fought a great battle for victory at the St Petersburg GP (Florida) after which the Colombian won. The old pilot McLaren was however hot since the reigning champion got stuck in the back of his car while attempting a vigorous overtake.

“I saw him perform the maneuver, but he was too far away and I wasn’t going to give him my place like that”, explained the first leader of the championship. “I would have accepted if he had been at my level, but he wasn't even close to me when I approached the corner. It's a shame that we got stuck but that's the race. »

Will Power blames himself even more since he damaged his car in the incident. “I might have had another chance if I hadn't damaged my front wing”, regretted the Australian. “He was very strong on the straights and my corner exits were not very good. I told myself that I might be able to take the lead there because you don't expect to be overtaken here. I tried my luck. I was surprised by his aggressive way of turning, but we both wanted to win the race. »
