IndyCar – Will Power draws the fastest in Texas

Four single-seaters powered by Chevrolet in the top 5, the American brand dominated qualifying for the second oval meeting of the year 2014 in IndyCar. And Will Power took the opportunity to show that he enjoyed this circuit by taking pole like last year. He is ahead of Josef Newgarden (Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing – Honda), Tony Kanaan (Team Ganassi – Chevrolet), Juan-Pablo Montoya (Team Penske – Chevrolet) and Ed Carpenter (Ed Carpenter – Chevrolet). Good performance for Simon Pagneaud and his Honda-powered Schmidt Peterson Motorsports DW12, who will start 6th tomorrow. The Frenchman is still chasing his first victory on an oval and will want to make up for a relatively disappointing Detroit weekend.

Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing – Chevrolet) for its part only set the 18th time in the qualifying session. We also expected better from the single-seaters from Andretti Autosport, victorious at Indianapolis on May 25 with Ryan Hunter-Reay. The winner on the Brickyard will start 12th. The best representative of Michael Andretti's stable is James Hinchcliffe (9th).  Helio Castroneves, the latest winner at Belle Isle, ranked 14th.
