Grand Am – Brendon Hartley at Starworks Motorsport

After a disappointing start to the season at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Starworks Motorsport wants to take matters into its own hands by announcing Brendon Hartley for the second round of the championship in Texas, on the Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) which also hosts the Formula 1. “Brendon did a fantastic job during the 24 Hours of Daytona getting used to driving a Daytona Prototype (DP), explains Peter Baron, manager of the team. We had recurring gearbox problems during testing, which did not allow him to increase the pace. But in the race, he had excellent runs which allowed him to do enough laps to make up the difference with the sister car driven by experienced DP drivers. This experience should put Brendon at ease for the COTA round. » Baron also highlighted the importance of the experience he was able to gain from the circuit in the simulator Mercedes F1.

For his part, Hartley was happy to get back behind the wheel of a DP: “I am very happy to join Starworks in the Rolex Series. The team is one of the best I've been around and has won a lot of Grand Am races. It's a great opportunity for me and I really appreciated taking charge of the DP at Daytona. I really enjoyed my experiences in the United States and I can't wait to race alongside Scott and the other Starworks drivers. »
