IndyCar-C1: Bourdais returns to pole in Toronto

Sébastien Bourdais signs his first pole in IndyCar since 2007 at the end of qualifying for Race 1 in Toronto where the Frenchman set the best time in the last session with a lap completed in 58”9479. The four-time champion of the discipline offers the second pole of the season for KVSH Racing after that obtained by his teammate Sebastian Saavedra.

The French driver will nevertheless have a hard time since he will start in front of Will Power and Helio Castroneves, the two leaders of the Team Penske Championship. This is his fourth pole won on the Canadian road circuit and the 32nd of his career. Knowing that the Frenchman has 31 successes, he can be optimistic for tonight's race.

But the former champion is not the only one to have distinguished himself during these qualifications since his compatriot simon pagenaud (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) took fifth place on the grid behind Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport). The Frenchman will start in front of the DW12 of Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing).

Race 1 in Toronto has been postponed due to weather conditions. The organizers will publish a new program but all on-track activities are stopped for the rest of the day.
