IndyCar – Chevrolet and Honda extend their commitment

Stability will be essential for the series car across the Atlantic for the next seasons. After the extensions of Dallara for the chassis, and Firestone for the tire supply, it is the turn of the engine manufacturers Chevrolet and Honda to announce the continuation of their partnership with IndyCar TV Shows.

“Having our main partners with us for the next rounds demonstrates the fact that they have all bought into the vision of the championship, recognizes Jay Frye, IndyCar president of competition and operations. It’s another sign of the positive momentum we continue to build as we grow the sport with the next decade in our sights. »

Chevrolet and Honda, in addition to the engine supply, are developing the famous aerodynamic kits introduced in 2012 and which will experience their last year of existence in 2017 (with a development freeze) since 2018 will see the arrival of a universal kit.

The IndyCar Series does not despair of attracting new manufacturers to the discipline in the coming years. “The fact that Honda and Chevrolet are encouraging the championship to attract other manufacturers to the competition is a sure sign that we are on the same page. » Frye further specifies.

The American series resumes its rights this weekend with the opening round contested in the streets of St Petersburg, Florida.
