IndyCar – Mikhail Aleshin will no longer drive for Schmidt Peterson in 2017

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has announced that Russian Mikhail Aleshin will no longer drive the team's No. 7 car in IndyCar this year.

IndyCar – Mikhail Aleshin will no longer drive for Schmidt Peterson in 2017

Fielded by Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in IndyCar since 2014, Mikhail Aleshin However, he will no longer be driving the #7 Dallara – Honda of Sam Schmidt’s team this year. The American team confirmed the mutual agreement reached with the Russian driver via a brief press release.

Mikhail Aleshin will focus on the development of the private BR1 LM P1, developed by Dallara and BR Engineering and operated by ART Grand Prix, and which will be entered under the SMP Racing banner in WEC in 2018.

Absent in Toronto for administrative reasons, Mikhail Aleshin was replaced by the Colombian Sebastian Saavedra, but SPM has not yet communicated a replacement for the Russian, the IndyCar Series going to Pocono (Pennsylvania) next week.
