IndyCar – Mikhail Aleshin continues with SPM

Mikhail Aleshin retains the confidence of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports ahead of the 2017 season IndyCar Series. Present in the fold of Sam Schmidt's team since 2014, the Russian driver had abandoned American events for a while after his very serious accident during testing in Fontana (California) at the end of 2014.

Returned to competition within the framework of the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015, notably via SMP Racing, Aleshin returned to IndyCar on the Sonoma road course in California for the last event of the year. SPM immediately established the Russian for 2016, a year marked by his second place in Pocono (Pennsylvania).

Aleshin also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the last three events of the WEC on the SMP Racing BR01.

“We know he is capable of winning races and competing for the Championship, specifies Sam Schmidt. This also means that we have maintained continuity between drivers, engineers and team members, which is essential for success. »

Mikhail Aleshin will pilot the #12 DW7-Honda and will be partnered by Canadian James Hinchcliffe.
