IndyCar – Pietro Fittipaldi will participate in the Indianapolis 500

The Brazilian will be a ''Rookie'' at the Indiana oval race as well as six other events during the 2018 season with Dale Coyne Racing.

IndyCar – Pietro Fittipaldi will participate in the Indianapolis 500

At only 21 years, Pietro fittipaldi will make his debut in the formidable 500 Miles event in Indianapolis (Indiana) in 2018. The Brazilian has in fact built a partnership with Dale Coyne Racing to compete seven rounds of the calendar IndyCar, including the famous oval race.

Lined up for trials at the last minute with the team of Sebastien Bourdais At the end of January, Pietro Fittipaldi convinced former driver Dale Coyne. The grandson of the double world champion Formula 1 Emerson Fittipaldi is delighted to extend the history of the Fittipaldi family in Indianapolis. “It’s a dream come true, especially since my family has a long history of this ordeal. (two victories for Emerson Fittipaldi in 1989 and 1993)."

“It’s no secret that I have the goal of one day racing in Formula 1; so I'm excited to race on the world stage like IndyCar this year,” rejoices the winner of the outgoing Formula V8 3.5. Pietro Fittipaldi will begin his partial program on April 7 on the Phoenix oval, before arriving in Indianapolis on May 12 for the road test in the “Infield”. After the Indy 500, he will compete in one oval race (Texas, June 9) and three road races at Mid-Ohio (July 29), Portland (September 2) and Sonoma, the championship finale (September 16).
