IndyCar – Rahal trains at Barber to prepare for 2015

After finishing 19th in the Championship, Graham Rahal returned to the wheel of the DW12 last Monday at the 3,8km Barber Motorsports Park (Alabama) for the first time since the season finale at the Fontana oval. (California) last August. These tests notably allowed him to work with his new race engineer Eddie Jones.

“It was a very productive day”, assured the resident of Rahal Letterman Racing who completed 83 laps at the end of his session. “I think the whole team is finding new enthusiasm with the new members who have arrived. We were very efficient in accomplishing a lot in a short period of time finishing within a second of the race pace. Eddie is open to lots of ideas and seems willing to do anything to improve the performance of the car and the team. I think good days await us. »

The new recruit is also delighted with the tests carried out. “The tests went very well, it was very productive. We came here with a fairly specific program and we followed it to the letter,” added Eddie Jones. “We collected interesting data to continue development. Graham was impressive as usual, staying focused and riding consistently despite not having driven for a while. We know that the new aero package will bring more downforce but we can still work on the mechanical package and that is what we have done. It was important to do this with Graham to establish our first rapport and I'm happy with it. »
