IndyCar – Will Power withdraws from St Petersburg

This is very bad news that Team Penske has just made official. Very lively since the start of the week, uncompromising in qualifying yesterday, Will Power will not be at the start of the St Petersburg Grand Prix, the opening round of theIndyCar Series.

The Australian was nauseous yesterday and was reportedly the victim of vomiting twice. This morning, Roger Penske reportedly told theAssociated Press that Power would have complained, upon his arrival in St Petersburg, of his inner ear. As a reminder, on Friday, he was the author of an exit from the track during the first free practice session. If nothing says at the moment that there is a cause and effect relationship, the 2014 IndyCar champion is however currently undergoing medical examinations to find out whether or not he suffers from a possible concussion.

Already requisitioned this morning during the warm-up, Oriol Servia will replace him. Having not participated in qualifying, the Spaniard will start from the 22nd and last place on the starting grid.

So it's the French simon pagenaud, second time in qualifying yesterday, which will lead the peloton later, at 17:45 p.m. French time.
