JR Hildebrand returns to Indy 500

JR Hildebrand will make his return to the Indy 500 where he will make his 9th start. The 2009 Indy Lights champion will once again team up with Sage Karam, defending the interests of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing with whom he took his first steps in IndyCar about ten years ago.

“We had a great relationship last year for our first joint participation in the Indy 500, comments the 31-year-old American. I started my career with Dennis (Reinbold) in 2010 when he took me to the Premier League. We have always maintained good relations since then and I have always been impressed by the speed displayed by this team. »

JR Hildebrand will drive the Dallara DW12-Chevrolet bearing the number 48, a number with which Dan Gurney took second place in the 1968 and 1969 editions of the Indianapolis 500. The DRR driver had a brilliant debut in this race, finishing 2nd behind the late Dan Wheldon while playing for Panther Racing during the 2011 edition. He finished just outside the Top 10 last year.
