JR Hildebrand proud to help Chevrolet

For its first full season in IndyCar Series, JR Hildebrand was able to sign a splendid victory at the Indianapolis 500 until the Panther Racing resident violently hit the wall in the very last corner of the race before failing in second position behind Dan Wheldon. This disappointment did not prevent the team from retaining the former rookie for the 2012 season. At 23 years old, the American was even able to participate in tests for the engine manufacturer Chevrolet and give his own feedback behind the big names in the discipline.

“It was really fantastic”, he admitted after discovering the DW12. “The best thing for me was just having the opportunity to work with the engine manufacturer who needed my input for development. I wasn't someone who had years of experience and had ever been involved in developing a car. But we followed the plan and the Chevrolet engineers were eager to hear my opinion. We can thus differentiate ourselves in a certain way and highlight ourselves to prepare for our future. I have always highlighted my ability to give positive feedback. It was a good thing to do it with Chevrolet in this type of situation. »
