The IRL launches its “Road to Indy” sector

The Indy Racing League has decided to launch a promotion channel to support young drivers from the lowest level of the ladder to the top.Indycar. While numerous promotion channels existed until now, the organizers decided to simplify access to Indycar by offering a clear organization.

Thus the drivers will start with the USF2000 National Championship, will continue with the Star Mazda Championship before reaching the Indy Lights championship, the antechamber of Indycar.

« For many years there have been too many options in junior races and drivers have had difficulty choosing the right championship to compete in. said Indylights driver James Hinchcliffe. " HAS present, not only is the path well defined but the ?Road to Indy? offer championships that complement each other well. »

A point of view shared by Michael Andretti, director of Andretti Autosport. “ The ?Road to Indy? is a very good idea and I support it. It is very important to have a well-defined path to the highest level. This should help young talents to emerge. »
