Nico Jamin joins Indy Lights with Andretti

Nico Jamin will move up another level in 2017 by competing in Indy Lights. The 2015 USF2000 champion, 3rd in the Pro Mazda Championship with Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, will ride in the No. 27 alongside Canadian Dalton Kellett who will be competing in his second year in the discipline.

“I remember my first race in USF2000 in 2014. I was walking around the paddock alongside Mario Andretti asking him to take a photo with me. I was far from thinking at that moment that I would be riding in a team owned by his son Michael a few years later. This is a dream come true and I want to thank everyone who made this possible. We have already had some very positive testing sessions and I can’t wait to see the green flag in St Petersburg (Florida)”, declared the new recruit of Andretti Autosport.

Nico Jamin was able to drive with his new team during the Chris Griffiths Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in early October. The 20-year-old Frenchman set the 2nd fastest time of the session.

“His progress has been promising and he has impressed in recent trials. We expect him to have a great season.”, added Michael Andretti.

The 2017 Indy Lights season will begin with the Florida round on the weekend of March 10.
