Scott Dixon triumphs in Texas

Aeroscreen, Coronavirus… Despite these changes, Scott Dixon is still there. Last night, at Texas Motor Speedway, the five-time champion of the discipline won the restart round of theIndyCar Series, the first of this 2020 campaign after the previous ones were postponed or even canceled due to the pandemic linked to Covid-19.

The New Zealander took off on the 197th of 200 laps to win his 47th success in the discipline, which allows him to come back to just five lengths behind Mario Andretti, the second most prolific driver in the he story behind AJ Foyt (67 wins).

« I don't know why, but she (the car. Editor's note) was super fast », he exclaimed upon arrival.

Finally, Dixon takes the checkered flag in front simon pagenaud and pole sitter Josef Newgarden, who defend the interests of Team Penske. The top five is completed by the surprising Zach Veach – who signs his best career result – and Ed Carpenter.

Dixon's teammate in Chip Ganassi Racing, Felix Rosenqvist believed he was going for victory after managing to get back into his teammate's wing with 35 laps to go. If the two cars drove together for a while, the Swede was surprised in traffic after almost hitting James Hinchcliffe and hitting the wall after a spin.

On the rookie side, Spaniard Alex Palo (Dale Coyne Racing with Team Goh) and Rinus Veekay (Ed Carpenter Racing) retired due to an accident, as did veteran Charlie Kimball (AJ Foyt Enterprises).

Next round on July 4 on the road circuit of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, for a historic meeting since it is in common with the Nascar.
