Will Power on pole in Austin

Will Power (Team Penske) scored his second consecutive pole in as many qualifications contested this year in IndyCar. The 2014 champion won in Fast 6 at the Circuit of the Americas (Texas) by completing a lap in 1'46''0177 with more than a tenth ahead of Alexander Red to win the 56th pole of his career.

Ryan Hunter-Reay and Colton Herta are on the second row ahead of Felix Rosenqvist and Scott Dixon.

Josef Newgarden (Team Penske), the first leader of the Championship after his victory in St Petersburg (Florida), was the fastest in his group during the first round but he subsequently fell further behind by not signing only the 7th time of the second heat and he will start from this position on the grid.

The French were in difficulty during qualifying on COTA. Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) is only 17th while simon pagenaud (Team Penske) had to settle for 22nd place.

The IndyCar race in Austin will be broadcast this evening on Canal+ Sport from 22:55 p.m.
