Will Power recovers at Infineon Raceway

Will Power reasserts himself on road circuits by taking pole on the Sonoma circuit. Penske Racing is a hit by placing its three drivers at the front.

Will Power does not intend to leave the title to Dario Franchitti (Target Chip Ganassi Racing) once again. The Australian took pole on the Infineon Raceway road circuit, beating his two teammates Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe.

Nevertheless, Dario Franchitti remains threatening by placing himself in ambush in fourth position. The Scotsman is ahead of his teammate Scott Dixon and James Hinchcliffe (Newman-Haas).

simon pagenaud will compete in her third race of the season following the absence of Simona de Silvestro (HVM Racing). The Frenchman will start from 22nd position while his compatriot Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) achieved a very good eighth place on the grid.
