Kyle Larson with McLaren at the 500 Indianapolis 2024

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion will start the 2024 edition of the Indianapolis 500 at the wheel of a McLaren half-owned by Rick Hendrick, owner of the Hendrick Motorsports team.

Star of the NASCAR, Kyle Larson, 2021 Cup Series champion, will participate next year in the premier event of theIndyCar, and one of the biggest car races in the world: the Indianapolis 500 (Indiana).

The Californian will ride aboard a single-seater with Chevrolet engine prepared by the Arrow McLaren team. Rick Hendrick, whose colors Larson supports in NASCAR, will be co-owner of the car, as well as title sponsor, through HendrickCars.com.

On the same day as the 2024 edition of the Indy 500 (the 108th of the name), the 30-year-old driver will also participate in the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 event, which takes place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina . Larson will become the 5th driver in history to attempt this famous double, the first since Kurt Busch in 2014.

Larson already has 19 successes in the NASCAR Cup Series, including 10 during his fabulous title-winning 2021 campaign. For Hendrick, this will be his first appearance at the Indianapolis 500 as an owner. His NASCAR team has 291 successes at the highest level, including 10 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where the Indy 500 takes place.
