The Roborace, races without drivers in support of Formula e

La Formula e has partnered with the company Kinetik to launch Roborace, races in support of the ePrix lasting one hour which will have the particularity of being contested without pilots. This discipline will be launched during the 2016-2017 Fe season with ten teams which will each field two identical cars. These cars will only be controlled by artificial intelligence and algorithms.

“We are convinced that all cars will be assisted by artificial intelligence and powered by electricity, which will benefit both safety and the environment”, said Denis Sverdlov, the founder of Kinetik and Roborace. “Roborace is a celebration of the revolutionary technologies and innovation that humanity has achieved so far. It is a global platform to prove that technologies and artificial intelligence can coexist with us in real life. »

Details on the technologies involved and the teams selected will be communicated in early 2016.
