The GP2 and GP3 Series will travel to Jerez

The organizers of the GP2 and GP3 Series have published the calendar for the two Championships for the 2017 season.

GP2 will retain 11 rounds despite the absence of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim and the withdrawal of the Sepang round (Malaysia). The discipline will return to Sakhir (Bahrain) at the start of the season and will compete for the first time in a round in Jerez (Spain) which will constitute the penultimate event of the season after having carried out tests there.

“We wanted to keep the same number of rounds including 3 outside Europe in 2017 as was the case last year, but we paid attention to transport costs, explained the director of the discipline Bruno Michel. We couldn't add a 4th meeting outside Europe and we had to do a separate meeting. This is also why we carried out our post-season testing in Bahrain before the opening. »
