A new recruit for Red Bull. After Enzo Fittipaldi at the end of November, it is Zane Maloney's turn to join the Red Bull Junior Team. The Barbadian, vice-champion of Formula 3 in 2022, joins Liam Lawson, Ayumu Iwasa and Isack Hadjar in the Austrian team's academy. In addition to now being supported by the team of Milton Keynes, Zane Maloney also becomes reserve driver for the Red Bull family in Formula 1, which includes the eponymous stable and Alpha Tauri.

Since 2019, Zane Maloney has experienced constant progress. British Formula 4 champion 3 years ago, he finished 8th Euroformula Open in 2020, 4th in the European Regional Formula (FRECA) in 2021 and runner-up in Formula 3 this year. The Trident driver especially impressed at the end of the season with three victories in the last three Main Races of the 2022 F3 campaign. “I am delighted to announce that I will be part of the Red Bull Junior Team academy and will be an F1 reserve driver in 2023. I am grateful for this opportunity and support, and I can’t wait to start the season”, rejoiced the Barbadian, who should be aligned in Formula 2 with Carlin next season according to our information.
