By becoming the first driver to win German and Italian F4 in the same year, it was hard to imagine Oliver Bearman not being coveted by a top team. F1. The Briton was approached, and he even signed with the Ferrari Driver Academy. “I am so happy to sign with Ferrari, confided the Englishman. It’s a wonderful way to end my season. Having spent a week in Maranello was a unique experience. I can't wait to join the Ferrari family and see what the future has in store for me.
Author of 5 poles and 6 victories in Germany, and 8 poles for 11 victories in Italy, the 16-year-old driver impressed throughout the year, even taking a victory in F3 British. Oliver Bearman was one of four drivers to take part in the FDA Scouting World Finals which was held in Maranello from October 11th to 15th. Whoever prefers to be called “Ollie” will not be the only newcomer to the ranks of prancing horse babies.
Camara, third Brazilian with the FDA
He will in fact be accompanied by Rafael Camara. Although he is older than Bearman by only three days, the Brazilian has not yet started his career in car. This year, in karting, he shone by winning the WSK Champions Cup or even a European championship race. He is the third Brazilian to join the FDA, after Enzo Fittipaldi and Gianluca Petecof.
Next year, Ollie Bearman should move directly up to FIA Formula 3. After testing with Prema during end-of-season testing, the Briton is one of four drivers vying for a seat within the Italian structure. For his part, Rafael Camara should make his debut in a single-seater.
