Romain Grosjean joins Dale Coyne in IndyCar

It's been in the air for some time, it's now official! As announced in the latest issues of AUTOhebdo and more recently in No. 2297, Romain Grosjean joined Dale COyne Racing in IndyCar.

The Franco-Swiss driver confirmed the news during a press conference on Twitch before Dale Coyne Racing followed suit moments later with a press release.

« I'm excited to have this opportunity to come to the United States and race IndyCar. I had several options in front of me for the upcoming season and IndyCar was clearly my favorite, he admitted. The level here is higher than what I have been used to during my career.

It will be thrilling to fight for podiums and victories again. My left hand hasn't healed yet but I'm almost ready to get back in a race car and start a new chapter in my life ».

At 34, Romain Grosjean is starting a new adventure in car, this time on the other side of the Atlantic. In the American championship, the former driver of Formula 1 will be at the wheel of the No. 51. A partial program awaits him with 13 rounds out of 17 (road and urban circuits). A small disappointment all the same, he will not be at the start of the Indy 500, a legendary event in the discipline.

Dale Coyne Racing enters two other cars: No. 52 with Rick Ware Racing, like the No. 51 of Romain Grosjean, and the No. 18 with Vasser Sullivan.

Romain Grosjean will have the opportunity to try his new car for the first time on February 22 at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama before the start of the season on April 18 on the same circuit.
