Shwartzman (Prema Racing) wins the main race in Hungary

Already winner of his first race last week in Austria, Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing) did it again on Saturday in Hungary. The Russian, who started in 11th position on the grid, beat Nikita mazepin (Hitech) and his teammate Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing).

Thanks to a superb start, which saw him gain 5 places after the first corner, Shwartzman won in a chair after an offbeat tire strategy. Starting on medium, while the drivers in front had put on softs, the FIA champion F3 in title waited until the 27th lap to enter the pitlane and arm himself with soft tires.

Very quickly, we realized that the strategy was the right one, since it only took him a few laps to get rid of Callum Ilott (Uni-Virtuosi), Luca Ghiotto (Hitech GP) and Schumacher. Shwartzman, leader of the championship, achieved a great operation since Callum Ilott, his runner-up who started from pole, only finished 5th.

It was a bad day on the other hand for the French teams since Christian Lundgaard and Marcus Armstrong for ART Grand Prix were forced to retire. Respectively for a blocked gearbox for the Dane and one for an unidentified technical problem for the Australian.

DAMS, for its part, experienced great difficulties with tire degradation. His British driver Dan Ticktum finished 9th, just behind Ilott (UNI-Virtuosi) who will start from pole again on Sunday. Giuliano Alesi (HWA Racelab) finished 11th.
