Takuma Sato bounces back in IndyCar

Takuma Sato was on the track in recent weeks to find a steering wheel in Formula 1, especially at Renault and especially Lotus. But the Japanese did not manage to reconnect with the premier single-seater discipline, eighteen months after the end of the activity of Super Aguri, the team for which he drove in F1 until 2008.

The Japanese driver bounced back in a good way by finding a wheel with KV Racing Technology, a team competing in the championship.IndyCar Series, after a year 2009 spent outside the seats. “ This is an important moment for me and my supporters “, says “Taku”.

« I really missed racing last year, continues the Japanese pilot. I am looking forward to taking on this new challenge, within a large team. For me, KV is a team with great potential and great team spirit. I am motivated by the possibility of fighting at the front, something that I have missed in recent seasons. »

« We are very happy to have been able to conclude this agreement with Takuma, says Jimmy Vasser, co-owner of the team. I'm looking forward to seeing what I know, which is that Takuma is very fast on road courses. We will work with him to get him to be fast on the ovals. I have no doubt that he can quickly get into the right rhythm. »

The IndyCar Series schedule has 17 races (see elsewhere), including that of Twin Ring Motegi, which will take place in Japan on September 19.
