Benoit Tréluyer was, just a few weeks ago, in the running for a second Formula Nippon title. But facing the Nakajima Racing cars, the Frenchman had great difficulty containing his opponents, and in particular Loïc duval, declared Formula Nippon champion at the Autopolis race at the end of August. Only ninth during the last race of the Formula Nippon season this weekend, Benoit Tréluyer nevertheless wanted to put on a show for his last appearance in the discipline. “ For my last Nippon race, my ambition was to have fun and entertain the fans. I think I succeeded! »

Despite his decision to end this championship, Benoit Tréluyer had told very few people about it. At the end of the race, the members of the Lawson-Impul team were very moved. “ I didn?t say anything because I didn?t want a farewell party. However, I couldn't escape tears when Igarachi, my chief mechanic for six years, fell into my arms! »
