Tsunoda propelled into F2 with Carlin
Honda will place one of its offspring in the Formula 2 in 2020. The lucky one is Yuki tsunoda, aged 19. The young Japanese will discover the discipline of access to Formula 1 with the English team Carlin.
Yuki Tsunoda, considered one of the Land of the Rising Sun's best single-seater hopes, concludes the 2019 FIA campaign Formula 3 in ninth place (victory at Monza). But this statistic should not hide the maddening progression that the 19-year-old driver has been following for several years.
In the space of two seasons, the native of Kanagawa is past small cars of Formula 4 Japan (champion in 2018 with seven victories) to the powerful Dallara of F2!
The year 2019 was particularly busy for the resident of Honda Racing Driver Development, with the FIA F3, but also the Euroformula Open (3rd in the Pau Grand Prix) and the Macau Grand Prix (11th).
Yuki Tsunoda, member of the Red Bull Junior Team, will have to avoid failure in F2, which his compatriots Nobuharu Matsushita or Marino Sato did not achieve.
