Will Power on pole at Iowa

Will Power (Team Penske) was the fastest to complete the two qualifying laps at Iowa Speedway. The latest Indy 500 winner celebrated his 52nd qualifying victory and is just one win away from AJ Foyt's record. This is the second time in a row that the Australian will start from pole on this 0,874 mile short track.

“It wasn't easy, but the car was superb, explained the Penske pilot. You really have to master it. It's quite complicated to manage the bumps, but we had tested here last week and we were well prepared for this weekend. It's a good start to the weekend. I love this place, it's a real trail for those who have it. I've been trying to establish myself here for so long. »

His teammate Josef Newgarden will start alongside him on the front row, preceding Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti) and simon pagenaud (Penské). Championship leader Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) will start in 6th position behind Alexander Red (Andretti). Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne) is further behind with the 15th time.

The Iowa Corn 300 will be followed live this evening from 20:30 p.m. on Canal+ Sport.
