Jorge Martín seems confident about approaching the 2024 season with his sights set on the world title, and explains that he learned from small mistakes that could have changed the course of last season in his duel with Francesco Bagnaia. The No. 89, however, has not fully digested his defeat, since the incident that occurred during the Qatar Grand Prix – concerning an unexplained failure of his tires on Sunday – remains in his throat.

“During the next season iYou will have to stay calm, really focused. I can't afford to make mistakes. And last year I overdid it, he admits the Spaniard in the columns of Motorcycle racing. Last season I had some problems, but I was fast every weekend. I am still waiting for an explanation from Michelin regarding what was wrong with my tire at Losail.

My goal in 2024 must be to reduce errors, continues Jorge Martin. When in doubt, I must accept a second, third, or even fifth place »

The Pramac driver then recalls the determination which pushes him to fight for the title, ensuring that he will still be present for many years.

« It's a year-round job. We train from January to November, adds Martin. We all sacrifice a lot for our sport. During July summer vacation we have maybe a week to lie on the beach. I still have five, six, maybe nine years left as a pilot, no one knows for sure. I will stop one day, when I feel like doing it knowing that I gave everything, really everything, and I hope to have been rewarded with the world title until then. »
