The latest rumors from the paddock MotoGP suggested that Liberty Media Corporation, parent company of the Formula 1, is getting closer to a possible acquisition of Dorna Sports, manager of the MotoGP World Championship.

Fueled by the words of Carmelo Ezpeleta – who confirmed the possibility of sale of the company – these allegations make sense, despite the absence of an official sale of Dorna Sports.

“These are rumors and this is what they say, declares the CEO of the company in comments relayed by Sports world. THEDorna's majority shareholders are investment funds, which buy things to sell them. We have always been for sale, from day one. »

If these comments do not confirm that negotiations are underway, they do not exclude anything either. Motosan reported for its part that other audiovisual giants have approached the company in charge of the MotoGP world championship. This would particularly be the case for Netflix and Disney.

Rumors which coincide with the recent rapprochement of the two giants of motorsport. As a reminder, not long ago, Ezpeleta raised the possibility of organizing a joint event with Formula 1.

“With Stefano Domenicali (CEO of F1. Editor’s note) I have had an extraordinary relationship for many years, and we have been thinking about setting up such a project for a while,” he said in the columns of Europe Press. It's not easy, but you can't get the idea out of your head. If it's possible, we will do it. »

Add to this that Pramac Racing will organize its launch event for the 2024 season in Bahrain, when the Formula 1 paddock will set up there for the inaugural round of its championship.
