The GASGAS Tech3 team recently shook up the transfer market ahead of the 2025 season, killing two birds with one stone to formalize its future driver duo. If Enea Bastianini was already expected to join the French structure, the formalization of the arrival of Maverick Viñales was less so.

The Spaniard will, however, be part of the KTM satellite team's project in 2025, which is something to rejoice Pit Beirer, delighted at the idea of working with 'Batmav', the most successful non-Ducati rider so far this season .

“There was a time when we met and talked, where he gave us the feeling that he wanted to be with us, explains the competition director of the Austrian factory on MotoGP.com. His commitment was very strong from the start. Things happened quickly. I also feel like he has a great team and a great bike right now, so for us it was a positive surprise that he was really open and serious about it, and that he didn't not just trying to get an offer from us to speak with someone else. »

Beirer also gave his expectations for Viñales for next year. “For him, the human side and the feeling of being at home is super important, and we all know he can work miracles. But we also know that if he doesn't feel comfortable, things go really badly. So, I think we have good ideas and good people on the team to work with him. If he wakes up in the morning and is sure of winning a GP, he is almost unbeatable. »

No leader at Tech3 in 2025

The signing of his future teammate was, however, just as pleasing for Beirer, since the No. 23 will join the Austrian manufacturer after spending the last two seasons in the most competitive team on the grid.

“If he is happy and confident, it will work, he continues, this time speaking of Bastianini. We are hiring the best riders in the world to fight for the podium and I think the pressure is on us to provide them with the right package. »

However, there is no question of predefining a leader for the team, because even if the riders will have an official motorcycle, the team remains a satellite team.
