Johann Zarco optimistic after Sachsenring - Red Bull Content Pool

Johann Zarco's race in Germany was not easy. After a difficult start, the Frenchman had to give up a few positions. He then fought to get back into the peloton, but failed just outside the points in 17th position.

A difficult weekend at the Sachsenring which contrasts with the successful Sunday that the Cannes native experienced last week at Assen, during which he won a few points.

Zarco, however, sees a lot of positives as he enters the summer break. He also admits to being optimistic about the development of the motorcycle.

“I lost a lot of time at the start of the race, explains number 5. From there I tried to follow my strategy. I managed to manage the tire wear, which was positive. At the end of the race, I felt like I had something to keep pushing. But it was tricky because my opponents didn't make it easy for me. Either way, we are always closer to the bike we would like to ride. We work really hard. »

Developments should indeed arrive between now and the end of the European tour of MotoGP. Johann Zarco could therefore arrive in Asia with a completely evolved machine.

“Hopefully, overseas, I can get some sort of new motorcycle, He continues. A motorbike could allow me to be in the top ten. That would be ideal. »

In the meantime, the Habs will have to focus on another objective. That of winning the Suzuka 8H with the HRC crew. Zarco now has a little over three weeks to prepare. The third round of the FIM EWC championship will take place on the weekend of July 20.
