fabio quartararo and Yamaha suffered another disappointment in Austria. While Ducati took the lead, the Japanese machines had more difficulty than usual finding their rhythm.

Difficulties which translate into a delay of 44 seconds on the leader at the finish for the Frenchman, who crossed the checkered flag in 18th position.

Disappointed with his weekend of competition on the Red Bull Ring, and Yamaha's non-progress in general, the No. 20 appeared annoyed in front of the media on Sunday afternoon.

“It was clearly one of the worst weekends of the season, confides Quartararo in front of French-speaking televisions. We are trying to improve, but unfortunately it is getting worse and worse. We can't find the path to move forward. I tried to push a lot in the first laps to try to widen the gap, but we still got overtaken. »

The direction to follow, however, does not change. The key word for Yamaha's second half of the season will remain perseverance. The Japanese manufacturer will therefore continue to bring new developments to its M1 in the hope of catching up with the European factories, which are progressing at high speed.

“Then there were pressure problems. In the end, we see that the result is disastrous, continues the 2021 world champion. It's definitely worse than before. We finished too far from the best. At the moment we can't do it. We will have to continue working and try to bring better things for the future. »

To do this, the Iwata factory will continue to take advantage of its manufacturer concessions, and the unlimited private tests to which it is entitled to continue its research. Manufacturer concessions which nevertheless do not seem to bear fruit as much as hoped.
