In the wake of the signing of Fermin Aldeguer to Faenza, Ducati and Gresini announced that they would extend their agreement for two more years.
The drivers of Nadia Padovani's team will thus be equipped with Desmosedici GP until at least the end of 2026. A deadline which will allow each of the parties to possibly reposition themselves before the arrival of the new regulations in MotoGP.
A logical agreement, which coincides with the contract that Aldeguer has within the satellite formation. The contract provides, as is currently the case, that the Gresini Racing team is equipped, each season, with the old version of the Desmosedici GP.
“We are delighted to be able to continue our collaboration with the Gresini family until 2026, confides Gigi Dall'Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse. Under Nadia's leadership, the team has achieved significant goals over the past few years, showing its strength and professionalism. »
Springboard training for Ducati
Gresini Racing effectively served as a springboard for riders such as Enea Bastianini or Fabio Di Giannantonio to achieve their first victory in the premier class aboard a Ducati.
She currently also serves the interests of multiple world champion, Marc Márquez. The Spaniard joined the structure at the start of the year before catching the eye of the factory team's decision-makers.
“The Gresini Racing team successfully guided various drivers to victory, continues the Italian. Y including very young talents. Therefore, we are convinced that it is the ideal structure to accommodate Fermín Aldeguer. They will be able to support him for his MotoGP debut. Once again, I thank Nadia and the entire Gresini family. We look forward to sharing exciting moments together. »
There will therefore remain six Ducatis on the MotoGP starting grid for the next two seasons. As a reminder, only three of them will be equipped with the latest specifications. Two in the official team, and one in the VR46 fold, entrusted to Fabio Di Giannantonio.
