Yamaha names Lin Jarvis' successor as CEO

Paolo Pavesio will take over as CEO of Yamaha Motor Racing in January 2025, succeeding Lin Jarvis, who has been in the role for 26 years.

Yamaha names Lin Jarvis' successor as CEO

Yamaha will change leadership effective January 1, 2025. Paolo Pavesio will take on the role of Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing (YMR), succeeding Lin Jarvis. A historic announcement for the Iwata factory. The latter has held this role for 26 seasons.

Formerly Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe (YME), Paolo Pavesio led the restructuring of YME’s operations around marketing and motorsport for 11 years, contributing to the brand’s success in WorldSBK, EWC and MXGP.

Jarvis will step down as CEO on December 31, 2024. He will continue to support YMR as a senior advisor.

Over the past 26 years, his commitment, diligence and leadership have been instrumental in Yamaha's success in MotoGP. 26 years of success for Jarvis

Appointed CEO of YMR in 1999, Lin Jarvis has led the Japanese firm to eight Drivers' Championship successes. The last one was in the 2021 season, when fabio quartararo.

Jarvis also led the brand to six Constructors' and seven Teams' crowns in MotoGP.

"Lin will be replaced as CEO by Paolo Pavesio, Sumi continues. He brings to this role a wealth of experience gained at Yamaha. He has guided our teams to success and will continue to do so.

I look forward to welcoming Paolo to Yamaha Motor Racing in January. Under his leadership, I am confident that Yamaha can achieve the success we all aspire to in MotoGP.” he concluded.
