This is an announcement that ensures close collaboration between the two entities for a long time. Dorna, the company that holds the rights to the MotoGP, and the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), have just sealed their agreement for a (very) long-term extension of their agreement.
While Dorna first secured the rights to promote the FIM World Championships in 1992, it will continue to do so until the end of the 2060 season.
A historic announcement that seals the common destiny of the two entities for another 36 years. Working in tandem with the teams’ association (IRTA) and the manufacturers’ association (MSMA), the partnership between the FIM and Dorna Sports will continue its momentum in its desire to make the sport more competitive and more popular on the world stage.

In addition to MotoGP and its Junior championships, the FIM World Championships considered under this agreement include the Superbike World Championship (World SBK) since 2015, the MotoE and JuniorGP World Championship since 2019 and the FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship (World WCR) since 2023.
“This is an incredibly important moment and one that brings long-term clarity and certainty to our sport, Jorge Viegas confides, President of the FIM. This is not only important for everyone directly involved in MotoGP, but also for the entire motorcycle racing community who reap the benefits of the global status, value and presence of this premier series.

“The collaboration continues and will be ever closer between the FIM, Dorna Sports and the other stakeholders,” he continued. On behalf of the FIM, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the work carried out by Dorna Sports since 1992 and I am confident that we will continue to combine our efforts to ensure the continued growth and success of MotoGP.”

An announcement that is also important for Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of the company since the beginnings of the project, more than 30 years ago.
“We are very proud to announce this agreement with the FIM, the Spaniard rejoices. This is fantastic news for the sport. But also for our fans around the world. We have built something truly special. We will continue to grow the sport by working together.
“Being able to secure such a long-term deal adds incredible value to MotoGP, Ezpeleta continues. We would like to thank the FIM for their support and look forward to making MotoGP bigger and better than ever through our continued partnership.”
As a reminder, Liberty Media, the company holding the commercial rights in Formula 1, will be a major player in this agreement from next season, having acquired the majority stake in Dorna Sports earlier this year.
