A new addition to the calendar, the Ayrton Senna circuit in Goiânia has finally managed to suit, at least in part, almost all the manufacturers on the grid. MotoGPAll but one, as the KTMs struggled from Friday to Sunday. Championship leader after the first round of the year in Thailand, Pedro Acosta managed to limit the damage by finishing seventh in Sunday's Grand Prix.
The Spanish driver was pleased to have been able to turn things around, while his teammate Brad Binder and the two Tech3 drivers, Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini, struggled, whether in qualifying, Sprint, or Grand Prix.
“We’ve clearly gone from one extreme to the other (between Thailand and Brazil – Ed.)! We have to be satisfied with that; we knew we were going to suffer from day one here. I think we held up pretty well. I got off to a very good start and the first few laps were good.”
As in Saturday's Sprint, Acosta had a more challenging Sunday, struggling with his front tire to get the bike into the corners. The 21-year-old took a philosophical approach, well aware that the Austrian package isn't yet on par with the Aprilias and Ducatis, at least in terms of versatility across the various types of circuits encountered in the MotoGP World Championship.
“Then it started to get difficult with the front tire, and also with top speed. Nevertheless, we know we're going to have some tough weekends, we got the most out of the bike, we have to be satisfied with that.”
