For its first season in MotoGPFermín Aldeguer is constantly discovering the specificities of the discipline, and this, during each weekend. Best result since the beginning of his MotoGP career, this third place in sprint allows the Spanish rider to breathe a little after his retirement during the main race at Jerez.

Visibly relieved by the outcome of this race, the driver expressed his satisfaction after having fought hard on the Bugatti circuit to secure this third position. For him, learning is a painful process.

“I’m very happy to get my first podium in MotoGP. It’s an incredible result. We have the speed and pace to be on podiums, he said after the race. I also think that in Jerez I could have fought for a podium here, it's going very well, so I thank Gresini and Ducati who are helping me a lot. I had some great battles with Fabio and Pecco in the first part of the race. I need more experience in these battles on track, even if I won the duel with both. Tomorrow, the race is longer so I'll have to manage it better."

Management to be optimized for Aldeguer

Although his machine appears capable of competing at the top of the table, as evidenced by Alex Márquez's results with the Gresini team, it is not enough for Fermín Aldeguer to live up to the expectations placed on him. Talented, but lacking in benchmarks and consistency, the Spaniard will have to adapt to Sunday's conditions to perform again.

In the battle at the end of the test with fabio quartararo, the former Moto2 rider showed that his machine's speed was indeed there. However, the main race will be marked by still uncertain weather. Will rain reshuffle the cards? Mild weather favoring tire wear? Both possibilities will pose a challenge for Aldeguer, whose performance has nevertheless improved since Qatar.
