« I am delighted to join the Lidl-Trek family, home to some of the world's best cyclists., Espargaró said. I'm excited to learn from some of the best riders and staff in the sport, push my limits and share this special journey with the fans. »
Espargaró has been cycling at a high level for many years and trains alongside professional riders at his home in Andorra. After a back injury that forced me to give up running, I turned to cycling to recover and train, says the person concerned. Over time, it became more than just a preparation: it became my passion. Living in Andorra, I made friends with many professional cyclists, which inspired me to train at a higher level. »
Through his role as ambassador, the Catalan will join the team at some of the most prestigious events on the calendar, but it is unclear whether the Spaniard will actually take part in some of the races. He will, however, share his experience as a top athlete with the team's young riders. Cycling has been a passion of mine for years and I decided to leave MotoGP earlier than expected to join a program that perfectly matches my passion, Espargaró rejoices. I am deeply grateful to Lidl-Trek for welcoming me into their family and supporting me. I will give it my all. »
