Aprilia Racing's objectives for the 2023 season MotoGP are living up to the hopes born during pre-season testing. For the presentation of its new weapon, the brand played the humor card with a video plunging the team and the drivers into the atmosphere of the legendary A-Team series, better known in France under the name Agence All risks.

In 2021, the Noale factory reached its first podium, going from outsider status to declared competitor to victory and why not now to the Championship.

Aleix Espargaró will fight again in 2023 for the Championship after his fourth place in 2022. Much more team captain than veteran, the Granollers native benefits more than ever from the support of a team that he has helped grow since 2017 and on the experience of its more than 200 Grands Prix. Maverick Viñales, for his part, will be able to count on an Aprilia RS-GP which immediately appealed to him. If 2022 was a year of discovery, 2023 must be the year of struggle at the highest level for No. 12.

The main strength of the Aprilia RS-GP 2023 is its V4 engine, which will no longer be able to evolve during the season following the loss of concessions. The brand claims to have gained maximum power and revs while maintaining the flexibility which makes it a formidable weapon. The aero retains concepts introduced in 2022, such as the curved side panel or the characteristic twin-blade front wing. Several innovations tested in trials, including active air guidance under the fairing and a new front wheel covering, should make their appearance in the race.

Aleix Espargaro: “Being part of Aprilia for so long puts some pressure on me, because I know how important results are for this company. At the same time, maturity and knowing the people I work with well gives me peace of mind. The year 2023 will begin with many unknowns. The new Saturday Sprint race format will require even more preparation for us drivers, but no one can yet really assess the real impact of this change. I prepared as well as possible and I am sure that we will still have a lot of fun this year”

Maverick Vinales: “In 2022, I learned a lot about Aprilia and my team, but also about myself. For this new season, we will be able to put all of this into practice. I immediately liked the new RS-GP. It has been improved in certain aspects, such as throttle management, which is fundamental to my riding style. I like the new weekend format. It will be interesting both for the fans and for the teams who will have the opportunity to prepare for the Sunday race using the Sprint. I am excited to begin. The break was beneficial, but now I just want to get back on the track! »
