- The start of the first free practice session of the weekend was fairly calm at Aragon, and drivers from different brands took the lead, such as Alex Marquez and Miguel Oliveira.
- While the Gresini riders seem comfortable on their GP23s, Pecco Bagnaia is having difficulty promoting himself into the top 10 on the circuit which is hosting the return of the discipline, after the last edition in 2022. With 15 minutes to go in the session, the number 1 is only 16th.
- Up front, Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta made a strong impression, and put in a series of fast times to stay in touch with the lead, now defended by Marc Marquez.
- With five minutes left in the session, six drivers from six different teams occupy the first six positions within just eight tenths of a second.
- Marc Marquez is far from being worried, since his time of 1:48.289 allows him to keep Jorge Martin five tenths behind him.
- In front of the checkered flag, the n°89 will not be able to get closer to the time of his compatriot. He thus completes the driving session in second position, ahead of Pedro Acosta.
- Without Marquez's time, the top 10, completed by Franco Morbidelli, would be within six tenths.
- Johann Zarco and fabio quartararo completed the session in 17th and 18th positions, 1.5 seconds behind Marc Marquez.
- Pecco Bagnaia completes the session anonymously, in 21st position. The number 1 will have to find what he lacks quickly for the rest of the weekend, while the practice session of the Aragon Grand Prix of MotoGP will start around 15:00 p.m.
