Bagnaia dethrones Marquez in Austin

Francesco Bagnaia does not give up in the title race against his rival fabio quartararo. On the Austin circuit, we all expected an eighth pole position from Marc Marquez, but it was ultimately the Italian who came to steal the show by signing a lap in 2'02.781 in the final minutes.

On Sunday, he will be ahead of Quartararo on the first row of the starting grid. The two opponents also share this front row for the seventh time in a row (since Assen). Marquez, who was surprised by the checkered flag, was unable to do a final flying lap and therefore had to settle for third place. However, this is his best result since the Spanish GP last year (before fracturing his right humerus).

Jorge Martin will lead the second row accompanied by Takaaki Nakagami and Johann Zarco who is recovering well from his compartment syndrome operation.

Winner two years ago in Austin, Alex Rins took the seventh time ahead of his teammate Joan Mir who had to go through the repechage just like Luca Marini, ninth.
