  • Solid under the assaults of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin, Francesco Bagnaia gave a new lesson in virtuosity to win the first race of the weekend.
  • The start was given for 11 laps, a little over 55km on a dry track but under an extremely threatening sky. From the first lap, drops of rain appeared without the drivers having to switch to rain tires.
  • The hero of qualifying, Alex Márquez unfortunately fell in the first corner, helped by a virile block pass from Brad Binder. The latter received a Long Lap penalty for this.

  • With a top speed of 366.1 km/h at the end of the straight, Brad Binder set a new speed record.
  • At the front, Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi engaged in a splendid duel, exchanging the controls of the race several times per lap. Well stuck in the wake of these furious three, Johann Zarco was able to patiently build his race but was unable to do anything to recover a place on the podium.

Jorge Martin: “It was difficult with a lot of pace. I took the risk of pushing very hard despite the raindrops. At the end of the race I tried to close the doors on Johann and it worked, but I was really at the limit. »

Marco Bezzecchi: “It was a fantastic Sprint. I had a great rhythm. We will now focus on tomorrow's race but that gives me a lot of confidence! »

Francesco Bagnaia: “I was scared at the end because it was starting to rain a lot! They were going fast behind me and I had a lot of fun. How beautiful Mugello is! »
