Bagnaia returns to pole position in Jerez

Before starting the real hostilities, the Q1 drivers met to try to gain one of the two places in Q2. At the end of the time trial session, it was Marco Bezzecchi and Johann Zarco who managed to come out on top.

In Q2, Francesco Bagnaia annihilated the competition by setting a first benchmark in 1'36.863. fabio quartararo, yet on pole at the start of the four races he contested in MotoGP in Jerez, tried to respond with a lap in 1'36.790, but the Italian hit the nail on the head three minutes from the checkered flag with a time in 1'36.170, shattering the all-time record in Jerez in the process. .

Bagnaia therefore returned to the pole position which had eluded him since the Algarve GP last year. He will start ahead of Quartararo and Aleix Espargaro, who placed his RS-GP on the front row for the second time in a row after Portugal.

Winner last year on the Andalusian track, Jack Miller took the fourth time ahead of Marc Marquez, who took advantage of Quartararo's wheel to climb into the second row in front of Zarco.

On the third row will be Takaaki Nakagami, the rookie Marco Bezzzecchi and Joan Mir, who made a mistake in Q2, as did Jorge Martin who complete the Top 10.

Bad operation once again for Alex Rins who missed Q2 and who will have to start from 14th position on the grid... The co-leader of the championship with Quartararo will still have to fight hard in the race to try to lose this status.
